Bulgaria is full of wonderful spots with splendid nature, and the mountains are their guardians! Immerse yourself in an exciting adventure filled with breathtaking views, unforgettable memories, a great workout for the body and tranquility for the mind. Challenge yourself, get to know the paths less travelled and immerse yourself in the beauty of nature!

Crossing the marble ridge in Pirin is one of the most classic Bulgarian treks.The panoramas – quite literally – can take your breath away, and the extreme aerial exposure of the rim will make even the bravest of you's hearts skip a beat!This is a trek that every mountaineer should have in their bio! Together we will climb the majestic marble giants of Pirin and walk along the terrifying edge of Koncheto, but of course we will not stop there! On the second day of our adventure, we will elegantly combine the view of the most famous Pirin giants, with the most sheltered and secluded paths of the mountain.

Programme:

Day 1  - The Marble Giants of Pirin mountain

Banderishka polyana – Banderitsa hut – Kazana – Vihren peak – Kutelo peak – Koncheto – Razlozhki Suhodol peak – Suhodolski Preval – Yavorov hut

We will start with a hike through a scenic forest path along the Bunderishka River to reach the Banderitsa hut, and through the still picturesque, centuries-old coniferous forests, we will begin our ascent to the Kazana shelter and the alpine parts of the mountain!

We will pass under the majestic north wall of Vihren and climb it along its northwestern edge, after which we will go to the second highest in Pirin - Kutelo. From here we will start the most adrenaline-filled part of our journey, namely – the crossing of the marble edge of Koncheto!

We may get a bit “dizzy”, because the panorama that is revealed from these peaks of Pirin is unique! We will see the sharpest alpine edges of the mountain, as well as the whole of Rila, spread right in front of our eyes! At the shelter renovated by the Mountain Guides Association, we will stop for a some rest and get ready to tackle the next challenges!

The peaks of Bayuvi Dukpi, Kamenitsita and Razlozhki suhodol await us! After them, we will go down to the Suhodol Pass and head towards Yavorov hut through a scenic path passing under the infamous rock formation "The Steps"!

Day 2 – adventures through the secret paths

On the last day, we will greet the morning by admiring the peaks from below, instead of walking on their sharp edges.

The first goal of the day will be Pareva Polyana - the starting point for ascents along one of the hardest edges in Pirin - Sredonosa and Koteshkia chal. We will have the chance to see their full majesty as if we were on the stage of an amphitheater!

When we are done admiring this view, we will head towards the Duninoto Kuche peak through a very adventurous path, and as soon as we climb it - we will also be able to see the greatness of the northern walls of the Kutele and Banski Suhodol!

From the top, we will descend below Tsrna Mogila to take the path to the Caves area, above Bansko, where our Pirin odyssey will end.

Mandatory personal equipment:

• small knife
• backpack with capacity 25-35l
• small binding package with bandages and elastic bandage, rescue foil
• high top mountain shoes
• spare socks (2-3 pairs)
• comfy mountain clothes
• long mountain trousers
• thermal underwear
• warm sweater
• raincoat and wind jacket
• warm hooded jacket
• winter hat
• gloves (2 pairs)
• buff or head scarf
• head lamp or flashlight
• sunglasses and sunscreen
• trekking poles (recommended)

The trek is more advanced and is suitable for people with good physical training.

All treks are carried out in compliance with the necessary safety measures and are led by a licensed mountain guide.
