We are all travellers. So besides all the other apocalyptic events between March and June, there was one more for us - we couldn't just get in the car and go somewhere.
This is why we took the first chance to “hit the road” again and share with you some great places by the sea, where you could go to “clear the aftertaste” of the bad start of the year.
Vacation in Sozopol
Diving in a beautiful bay
If you are going to spend your summer vacation in Sozopol and do not know the city well, here's the main thing you need to know:
- You go to the beach of Kavatsite or Duni, but not that of Sozopol itself.
- The sunset can best be observed close to the Naval Base, near the Mussels Beach.
- In the Old Town there are many restaurants with panoramic sea views, look for them - they are usually reached by narrow stairs on the side. We like Del Muro, but if you’d like something more traditional, the Windmill is your place.
- If you like cocktails - Malkata Tekila.
- There are performances at the amphitheater almost every night, havea look for something that might interest you.
Sozopol is the ideal place for diving.
UNDERWATER ADVENTURE FOR TWO. SOZOPOL
If you decide to try it out, you will certainly not regret it. Believe me, we are veterans in “adventuring”, and this is definitely one adventure that we think everyone should experience at least once, if not more, in their lives.
During the dive you will be surprised how rich Black Sea’s underwater life is. As our diving instructor says - "Many people think Black Sea is muddy and dirty, but the truth is that there is just a lot, a lot of life in it." You will have the opportunity to get to 5-6 meters underwater, feed fish and crabs and witness a completely different world.

Surfing in Nestinarka
The area around Tsarevo is very popular for camping. In general, it is a place for the wild ones, the hippies, hipsters, bohemians or just plain-old adventurers. It is not a coincidence that there is a surf school in Nestinarka - it is not for everyone, but for whom it is, it’d be love at first sight.
In addition to surfing, there is kayaking, sailing and paddle board, so there is no chance that you will getbored.
While at Nestinarka, if you fancy going to a beach bar you’d go to 35 or BarBaron, not that there is too much choice, but this is also good news, if we were looking for nightlife, we’d have gone to Sunny Beach. For dinner we recommend Morsko in Tsarevo, but in any case the area is not popular for its dining establishments.
Nearby is the Veleka River, where you can take a paddle board or a kayak ride.

Vacation in Burgas
The healing mud and salt of lake “Atanasovsko”
Burgas is usually the starting point of all our sea adventures at the South Coast.
You have to visit Incanto, be sure to try their homemade lemonade. Vegetarians and vegans are also welcome, there are meals for everyone. Unlike many others, we are not fans of the seafood restaurants staple in Burgas - Zlatna ribka. On the other hand, there is nice fresh seafood at Jolly Roger at the seaport.
The whole Sea Garden was renovated some time ago and is now an interesting place to find refreshment in the heat. At the "Flora" there are often various events or live encounters with butterflies.
Nobody goes to the beach in Burgas. On the one hand, this is a plus because it is great for training and jogging. On the other hand - there are no nice beaches nearby.
We strongly recommend that you stop by lake “Atanasovsko”. There, for a very modest amount (there are vending machines that only accept coins) you can take a dip in the pink pools with lye and pure salt at the bottom or in those with healing mud. Don't forget to stop by the small building of "Symbiotic" (open on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays between 17.00 - 20.00), where you will learn that lake “Atanasovsko” is inhabited by the most birds in all of Bulgaria and other interesting facts. Nearby, in the area of Sunny Beach, there is a jeep safari.

Vacation near Primorsko
Beglik Tash and the trails to Maslen Nos and the bay of the church St. Paraskeva
Primorsko is quite a popular summer resort, but rarely do vacationers visit some of the most beautiful places in the area - Ropotamo Nature Park, Beglik Tash and the trails starting from there.
For Beglik Tash, don't trust Google Maps. It will take you to the beginning of the road to Ropotamo Beach. Before Ropotamo Nature Park there is a turn for Beglik Tash. It is best to leave the car there and walk. In 15-20 minutes you will arrive, the entrance is only BGN 2 and you will receive a guiding leaflet.
From Beglik Tash there are two tourist trails - to Maslen Nos and to the bay of the church of St. Paraskeva. If you only have to choose one, let it be Maslen Nos. But it is also longer, maybe between 30-35 minutes. It passes through a beautiful, not very dense forest. Towards the end of the trail there is a turn for the rock formations, the fjords and the Seal Cave (there is one with the same name near Varna, which is far more famous). If you decide to stop by, you will find fabulous views, if not - go straight to the small beach of Maslen Nos.
Maslen Nos and the bay of St. Paraskeva can also be reached by kayak, boat or sailing yacht / catamaran.

Vacation in Varna
Dinner and an overnight stay in a yacht
So, well, we talked about Burgas, we cannot miss Varna. Raponggi is the best beach of the city, but keep in mind that it is a very commercial place. We like eating and having cocktails in El Kapan, but if you don't like it, fortunately the city offers many options for dining and drinking. Another nice place is Captain Cook at the port. If a loved one has an occasion, you could surprise them with cake and candles to a backdrop of a selected soundtrack. The most beautiful view is from the panoramic site "Galata".
If you are looking for something more unusual, dinner and an overnight stay on a yacht is certainly a good option.
