Rose distillaries and wineries
The liquid gold of Bulgaria – this is what the rose oil is. There is a number of rose distillaries on the territory of Kings’ Valley, which will make you feel the magic of rose picking and distillation. An interesting fact is that roses are always picked early in the morning so that the aroma as well as the fresh morning dew are preserved in the flowers. In order for one drop of rose oil to be exctracted, 30 rose flowers need to be distilled, while for 1 litre – a whole of 3 tonnes! The local rose distillaries are awaiting you to tell you more about this interesting process, so don’t forget to look out for the rose distillaries of Lema, Terra Rossa and Enyo Bonchev. After letting the sweet rose aroma enchant you though, don’t forget to head to one of the excellent wineries nearby, where by tasting selected wines you will find out why the Thracian lowland is considered to be one of the best wine destinations in Bulgaria! History and nature
You can’t leave the Kings’ Valley without visiting the Kazanlak Tomb – only 5.8 km away from the hotel, in line with the Ostrusha Tomb, the Gryphons Mound and the Sarafova Mound. Continue your historical trip by climbing up the situated nearby Buzludzha peak and Shipka peak and rest assured that those 890 stairs to the top will be worth it!
