Discover the beauty of Bulgaria! Mountain trek in the Central Balkans

Bulgaria is full of wonderful nature corners, and the mountains are their guardians! Immerse yourself in an exciting adventure filled with breathtaking views, unforgettable memories, a great workout for the body and tranquility for the mind. Challenge yourself, get to know the paths less travelled and immerse yourself in the beauty of nature!

In this program, we will spend two days in the wilds of the most beautiful and picturesque corner of Stara Planina - Paradise itself and the hut carrying the same name near South Jendem. We will also climb the summit of the Balkans - the majestic and beloved by all of us Mount Botev. Get ready for shared bright sunsets and unforgettable sunrises!

Programme

Day1

10 AM Group gathers in Kalofer town, by Hristo Botev monument. 

We will check the luggage and depart to Panitsite area, where we’ll begin our journey to Rai hut, through the forests of Stara planina. We will trek for about 3- to 4-hours trek to the hut, and on the way we can stop to rest on one of the many benches with a view of Botev. In the afternoon we arrive in "Paradise". We take off the heavy backpacks and settle in the rooms overlooking the beauty of the mountains. After a short rest and a cold beer, we head to the 124-meter Paradise Splash waterfall (30-40min. walk) to enjoy the majesty of this colossal column of water up close, after which we will return to the lodge to relax completely and to enjoy  the sunset.

Day2

Getting up at 7 AM or earlier for those who wish to see the sunrise.

We’ll have our breakfast, drink our morning coffee, get our backpacks and embark on the next adventure, namely reaching the summit of the Balkans - Mount Botev 2376m. The peak is extremely panoramic and offers incredible views of the massifs of Stara Planina. We leave the hut and before we have even woken up - we will find ourselves on the Tarzan Trail - the first test of the day. Here you’ll really have the opportunity to leave the comfort zone and challenge yourselves.

The higher we climb, the more captivating the views become, and the more we wish we could reach the top as soon as possible. After the unreal views that we have seen, we pack our bags and head again to the Paradise hut, and from there back to Kalofer, where our unforgettable adventure ends.

• participation in the programme. You can choose from the drop-down menu whether to join a mixed group with a fixed date or do a VIP individual trek or trek as a couple, again individually with the guide, and on a chosen by you date.

Mandatory personal equipment:

• mountain insurance valid for the trip
• small knife
• backpack with capacity 25-35l
• small binding package with bandages and elastic bandage, rescue foil
• high top mountain shoes
• spare socks (2-3 pairs)
• comfy mountain clothes
• long mountain trousers
• thermal underwear
• warm sweater
• raincoat and wind jacket
• warm hooded jacket
• winter hat
• gloves (2 pairs)
• buff or head scarf
• head lamp or flashlight
• sunglasses and sunscreen
• trekking poles (recommended)

The trek is suitable for beginners with basic physical training.

All treks are carried out in compliance with the necessary safety measures and are led by a licensed mountain guide.
