Discover the beauty of Bulgaria! Mountain trek to Kozya Stena and Eho hut

Bulgaria is full of wonderful spots with splendid nature, and the mountains are their guardians! Immerse yourself in an exciting adventure filled with breathtaking views, unforgettable memories, a great workout for the body and tranquility for the mind. Challenge yourself, get to know the paths less travelled and immerse yourself in the beauty of nature!

During this weekend, we will wander through the cool forests and climb the windy peaks around two of the most iconic mountain huts in the Balkans – Kozya Stena and Eho. These places have gifted many of us with some of the most wonderful memories of enchanting sunrises and sunsets and engraved in our souls incredible experiences. Let's dive into the magic of Stara Planina together!

Programme:

Day 1

Beklemeto – Kozya Stena peak – Eho hut

09:00 – The group gathers at Beklemeto. As soon as we leave the cars, we will continue along the ridge to the adventurous peak Kozia Stena to climb it and enjoy the panoramic views to the peaks of the Central Balkans. Then we will go to Kozya Stena hut to recharge with good food.

Ready for an adventure, we will head to the nearby Eho hut to soak up with our eyes and hearts the colossal scale and space of the panorama towards the magnificent Vejen peak. On the way, we will pass through mount Ushite, and when we reach the hut, those of us who are not tired, will also conquer the slopes of mount Yumruka! Once we get back, we'll enjoy the sunset from mount Kavladana, or else from the hut, with a hot drink.

Day2

Eho hut – Kozya Stena peak - Beklemeto

Those who wish to start the day with a sunrise will get up earlier. After breakfast, we’ll head along the Beklemeto ridge to reach our starting point filled with good emotions and memories.

Mandatory personal equipment:

• mountain insurance valid for the trip
• small knife
• backpack with capacity 25-35l
• small binding package with bandages and elastic bandage, rescue foil
• high top mountain shoes
• spare socks (2-3 pairs)
• comfy mountain clothes
• long mountain trousers
• thermal underwear
• warm sweater
• raincoat and wind jacket
• warm hooded jacket
• winter hat
• gloves (2 pairs)
• buff or head scarf
• head lamp or flashlight
• sunglasses and sunscreen
• trekking poles (recommended)

The trek is suitable for beginners with basic physical training.

All treks are carried out in compliance with the necessary safety measures and are led by a licensed mountain guide.
