Even today, the peaks of Georgiytsa, Sinanitsa, and Muratov tell their old legend and sing their sorrowful tale… Sinanitsa was a shepherd girl whose dazzling beauty became known to Murat Bey. Determined to possess her at any cost, he set out to find her. Frightened, the girl ran toward the sharp peak and, in order to preserve her faith, threw herself into the abyss.

When Murat Bey found her lifeless body, he noticed with astonishment that around Sinanitsa's neck hung part of an amulet… It bore the name Georgiytsa. The other part of the amulet hung around his own neck. At that moment, he realized she was his sister. Overwhelmed by grief over her death and the resurfacing memories of his forced capture as a janissary, he vowed from that day on to become the greatest protector of the mountain and the rebels who roamed it…

Give yourself a two-day adventure among peaks and crystal-clear lakes, following in the footsteps of the beautiful Sinanitsa, and enjoy some of the most breathtaking corners of the beloved Pirin Mountains!

The experience includes:

  • participation in the program
  • a licensed mountain guide
  • mountain insurance for the duration of the program with coverage of 2000 BGN
  • one overnight stay in a high-mountain hut.

Program:

Day 1: Vihren Hut – Muratovo Lake – Georgiytsa Lakes – Sinanitsa Hut.

09:00 – Group gathers at Vihren Hut. You head toward Muratovo Lake, from where the trail continues with a steep ascent past the peak of the same name. Before long, your efforts are rewarded – the mysterious Georgiytsa Lakes appear before you. You stop for a short break and lunch, taking in their unique beauty. A hidden trail then leads you to the foot of Georgiytsa Peak (2589 m) – the highest summit of the Sinanishko side ridge.

Despite the usual tradition of naming side ridges after their highest peaks, the Sinanishko ridge takes its name from the lower (2515 m) but exceptionally beautiful Sinanitsa Peak. Your breath is taken away as you see the majestic, vertical northeastern wall of the summit! Its lead-gray face reflects in the nestled Sinanishko Lake below, on the shore of which lies the iconic hut that marks your final destination for the day.

Day 2: Sinanitsa Hut – Sinanitsa Peak – Momin Peak – Sinanishka Porta – Goliamo Spano Pole – Banderishka Porta – Muratov Peak – Vihren Hut.

After breakfast, you set off toward the summit. The climb is not easy, but with every step, the view behind you grows more spectacular – the hut and lake gradually shrink to tiny dots, and once you reach the summit, the entire marble ridge dazzles before you. The route continues toward Momin Peak and Sinanishka Porta, offering stunning panoramas. The trail leads you through what feels like a lunar landscape – across the vast Goliamo Spano Pole and onward to Banderishka Porta. Here, you leave your backpacks to climb the final peak from the legend – Muratov. Once again, you’re captivated by the immense beauty and majesty before your eyes – Todorka Peaks, the Banderishki Cirque with its sparkling lakes, the Georgiytsa Lakes, and far in the distance rises the silhouette of the enchanting Sinanitsa. Silently, you descend back to Vihren Hut, carrying with you forever the memory of this lived legend…
