Immerse yourself in a centuries-old tradition filled with symbolism, and spiritual history! In this workshop, with the help of Ioana Chushkareva from Chiprovtsi, a descendant carpet maker, you will get to know the unconscious design in the tradition and you will be able to create an authentic design for a Chiprovski carpet yourself! The activity is suitable for both adults and children and offers a unique experience that will introduce you to a very special Bulgarian craft! You will learn more about the origin of the carpets and you will "travel" around the world to distinguish between the types of carpets in other countries and in Bulgaria.

During the experience you will learn about:

  • Ornaments, composition in Chiprovski carpets, forms and symbolism
  • Different textile materials and the tools used for shaping them
  • Yarn dyeing 
  • Design and composition
  • Duration: 90 minutes

Hour: 7PM - 8.30 PM

Location: “Kak Taka” space, 85 Evlogi and Hristo Georgievi blvd.
