Discover the Beauty of Bulgaria! Mountain Hike to Ushite Peak, Malyovo Pole, and the Malyovo Lakes

Gift (yourself) a hike through the spring beauty of Rila! You will visit the Malyovitsa Valley and climb Ushite Peak (2547 m). You will also have the opportunity to enjoy the view of the Malyovo Lakes, located away from the main trail to Malyovitsa Peak.

Group meeting at 8:30 AM at the Malyovitsa Central Mountain School (CPSH Malyovitsa). You will head up the valley and arrive at Malyovitsa Hut in less than an hour. The hike continues with a steep ascent along the Hare Trail, which gradually reveals outstanding views of the outlines of Orlovets, Lovnitsa, the Kupenite peaks, and Popova Kapa.

From here, without a marked trail and across the soft grassy slopes of Malyovo Pole, you will head toward the goal of the day – Ushite Peak (2547 m). The summit offers an interesting perspective toward the Malyovitsa wall, the Urdina Valley, and as far as the Kalinite peaks to the west.

On the descent, you will pass by the three beautiful Malyovo Lakes. Finally, you will descend through the steep Ovcharski Gully, which will lead you to First Terrace, and from there back to the hut and CPSH Malyovitsa.

Mandatory personal equipment and requirements:

• backpack around 30–40 liters
• high three-season hiking boots
• 2 pairs of spare socks
• suitable clothing:
• comfortable long hiking pants
• quick-dry T-shirt/blouse
• thermal base layer top and leggings
• fleece
• raincoat
• windproof jacket
• down jacket or synthetic insulated jacket with hood
• spare dry clothes for changing
• winter hat
• summer hat
• gloves
• buff or other head/neck scarf
• headlamp or flashlight
• sunglasses
• sunscreen
• personal first aid kit according to your needs
• trekking poles (recommended)

The hike is suitable for beginners with basic physical fitness. All hikes are conducted in compliance with the necessary safety measures and are led by a licensed mountain guide.

Group hikes with fixed dates are organized with a minimum of 4 participants. If you purchase a voucher for a scheduled group hike but the minimum group size is not reached for the selected date, or weather conditions do not allow the hike to take place, the organizers will offer you an alternative date and your voucher will remain valid.
