Sgraffito and wine. Art workshop for adults

Enjoy an inspiring evening where you’ll craft elegant ceramics using the ancient sgraffito technique—while enjoying a glass of wine in hand. Guided by an expert, you’ll dive into shaping, coating, and carving a clay vessel in a warm, social setting.

Sgraffito (from Italian sgraffiare , “to scratch”) involves applying a layer of colored slip or underglaze onto leather-hard clay, then etching designs to reveal the clay body beneath. This process allows for delicate, intricate patterns—far more detailed than painting—making each piece uniquely beautiful. 

The tactile rhythm of applying slip, carving motifs, and waiting for the layers to reveal themselves fosters a meditative state. This hands-on ritual encourages mindfulness, eases stress, and invites creative flow—a soothing escape from daily distractions. Participants often describe it as deeply relaxing, with the focus on the moment and the material fostering a true sense of calm and satisfaction .

The experience includes:

• One 2‑hour session
• All materials, tools, kiln firing & finishing
• A professional artist to guide you through the process
• A glass of wine
• Warm, artistic ambiance in a small group
• Decoration of a pre-prepared item: applying engobe (colored clay mixture), scraping a selected motif onto the surface

Milena Yordanova Ivanova is a ceramic artist (and a supervised art therapy consultant). She creates spaces for spontaneous expression, joy from the material and emotional recharge through the creative process.

• Free cancellation up to 3 days before the event
• If canceled later or in case of no-show - 50% of the amount of the voucher will be deducted
