Bulgaria is full of wonderful spots with splendid nature, and the mountains are their guardians! Immerse yourself in an exciting adventure filled with breathtaking views, unforgettable memories, a great workout for the body and tranquility for the mind. Challenge yourself, get to know the paths less travelled and immerse yourself in the beauty of nature!

Almost at the tip of the mountain, Mazalat Hut is a fairy-tale like house that we all dreamed about when we were kids. Small but stable, surrounded by the majestic mountain, this house has been a safe place for many years. And we love the hospitality of its hosts, the family-like atmosphere, and the delicious food. Mazalat Hut has “Hut of the year 2015” prize!

Prepare for wonderful two days at this place and an unforgettable walk to the “Singing rocks” nature phenomenon.

Programme:

Day 1: Partizanska Pesen Hut – Mazalat Hut – Valchata glava peak – Singing Rocks

9AM Group gathers at Partizanska Pesen Hut

After checking our baggage and equipment, we head among picturesque broad-leaved forests to the ridge of the Balkans. At first our path is flat, wide and strewn with leaves, but soon we begin to climb a slight incline which unlocks for us the main ridge and panoramic views all the way to Buzludzha and Shipka far on the horizon!

Among these historical monuments, watching us from afar, we make rapid progress and very soon –in the early afternoon – arrive at the Mazalat hut. We settle in and grab something to eat. Those who wish to rest can stay in the hut, and the rest of us (if we wish) - head to the phenomenon of the Singing Rocks.

After climbing Valchata glava peak, walking along the ridge, we will have the opportunity to stop by the Rosovatets peak before reaching our goal. Refueled with the energy of these natural beauties, we will head back to the hut for a well deserved rest and a delicious meal!

Day 2: Mazalat Hut - Partizanska Pesen Hut

Following the customs of a typical Sunday, we won’t be in a hurry to leave. Some of us may even get up earlier to see the sunrise!

After breakfast and free time in and around the hut, we will be heading back to Partizanska Pesen Hut.

Mandatory personal equipment:

• Backpack (approximately 30–40 liters)
• High three-season hiking boots
• 2 pairs of spare socks
• Appropriate clothing: comfortable long pants, quick-drying T-shirt or top, thermal underwear (top and bottom), fleece, rain jacket, windbreaker, down or synthetic insulated jacket with hood, spare dry clothes for changing
• Winter hat
• Summer hat
• Gloves
• Buff or other head/neck scarf
• Headlamp or flashlight
• Sunglasses
• Sunscreen
• Personal first aid kit (as needed)
• Trekking poles (recommended)

The trek is suitable for beginners with basic physical training. All treks are carried out in compliance with the necessary safety measures and are led by a licensed mountain guide.
