Shtirnik is a typical dish in the Gabrovo region. Traditionally, it’s prepared during spring when “shtirnik”, a green edible plant grows. Now this pastry is prepared with all types of greens like spinach, nettle and anything else seasonal. Two are the most important aspects of the preparation: spices, such as tarragon, mint and lovage, and the manner in which the dough is prepared (it is pulled and not rolled).

Aunt Venche will welcome you to tell you all about this dish, and she will treat you to some local food. If you wish, you can also prepare the typical Byal muzh dish. Please leave a note when buying this voucher and please keep in mind that this will cost extra 20 lv./person, payable on spot.
